13. The Forbidden Inheritance

13. The Forbidden Inheritance

Ark of the Archive

—Or, the bloodline of Sun, and the strategy that was never spoken—

“When you surround an enemy, always leave them a way out.”

That teaching still echoes across the Galactic Federation.

And yet—

There exists another strategy.
One never recorded.

It was spoken once…
and then erased.

—Whoever uses this will change history.
But their name will not remain.

People came to call it simply:

the Forbidden Move.

Mokchi Lao.

Prime Minister of the Galactic Federation,
and Commissioner of Public Security.

His lineage began with a single “victory.”

Not by winning.

But by letting the enemy win.

Lintai Lao, the first of his line, did not resist.

He obeyed.
He praised.
He accepted total defeat.

And then—

Thirty years later—

He took everything.

Without drawing a single blade.

Hugh Donack was being held.

A narrow cell. Cold light.

The man who appeared before him spoke quietly.

“I am El Wooter. Acting on behalf of Dr. Griss.”

There was something unnatural in his calm.

“I have a message for you.”

Hugh looked up.

“I came here to petition the Emperor. Not for this—”

“This is precisely where you were meant to be.”

He cut him off.

“Today is the beginning. Not the end.”

Wooter continued.

“The plan that began eighteen years ago has finally reached its proper position.”

Hugh couldn’t understand.

But the man spoke without hesitation.

“Lao believes he has won.”

“But he is mistaken.”

A brief silence.

“The essence of the Forbidden Move is simple,” Wooter said.

“It is not about accepting defeat.”

“It is about designing it.”

A chill ran down Hugh’s spine.

“You think you will be executed.”

“The probability is less than one percent.”

“…You expect me to believe that?”

“You don’t need to.”

The answer came instantly.

“What matters is the arrangement.”

A faint glint passed through Wooter’s eyes.

“And you are at its center.”

“What… are you talking about?”

“You are the fifty-first.”

That single statement lingered, unnaturally clear.

Silence.

Somewhere far away—

something had begun to move.

The Forbidden Move is to disappear.

And yet—

What disappears does not always vanish.

The story has not yet begun.

To be continued.
