① Long time ago (33+ years), I was indirectly engaged in three projects via three different companies at Kansai International Airport abbreviated as KIA, though it had nothing to do with Kia Motors or that kind of varieties.
Those three projects used a platform of the company I worked for.
Each project experienced various types of software defects in three distinct areas… My team dealt with those defects in liaison with the development teams in US, and some of the defects were rather annoying, but it is just a farce, looking back as usual.
In a meeting in Macau, my US based management informed me that KIA is a little bit concerning term because it is a military term for "killed in action" analogous to MIA, which means "missing in action." Incidentally, MIA is different from "incomunicado."

② 17+ years later, I heard a completely different joke relative to KIX, which is not the main theme, but somewhat symbolic.
A bizjet of a "filthy rich" business tycoon was approaching KIX, and requested landing clearance, but the air traffic controller denied it due to the lack of a submitted flight plan.
Five minutes later, the Pentagon contacted the KIX control tower.

③ The primary purpose of the business tycoon's visit to the Kansai region was apparently to purchase a historic facility near Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyōto. The tycoon did say, responding to a question, "by the way, I also bought a company". That company was once the darling of the era in the IT industry…

④ I met the business tycoon a few times around 30 years ago.
In a reception, he suddenly quoted a verse in the "The Tale of the Heike":
    Gionshōja no kane no koe, Shogyōmujō no hibiki ari.
adding "the interpreter might have a difficulty…"

① 33年以上昔、関空の3つのプロジェクトに異なる三社を経由して間接的に関与していた時、それぞれの異なる分野での色々なソフトウェアの不具合に遭遇し、USの開発部門と私のチームが協力してそれらを解決したのですが、中にはかなり厄介な問題がありました。
振り返ってみれば勿論単なる喜劇ですが 😎
関空は KIA (≠ 起亜)と略称されおり、澳門での会議の席で私の報告に対してUSのマネージメントからの反応が面白かったので、ここに記しておきます：
Doug L.: KIAという名前は…あ～気になるね。ミリタリー用語だと「戦死」だよ、そして「行方不明」がMIA。
（明らかにF-bombを避けるべく言葉を選んでいました。豪州人であれば bloody… と言ったかもしれません。こちらの方が遥かにマイルド😉）

② その後17年程経過して、或るビジネス界の巨人に関する話。
この話にも関空が登場しますが、主役ではありません。

• 彼のビズジェットが関空にアプローチして着陸許可を得ようとした。

• 管制は運航計画不在を理由に拒否。

• その五分後にペンタゴンから関空の管制塔に連絡があった。

③ その巨人の関西地区訪問の主目的は京都南禅寺近くの由緒ある施設を購入することだったと推察されます。
その後、質問に応えて曰く「あ、そうそう序でに＊＊＊も買収した」。
（この＊＊＊はIT業界にて或る時期一世を風靡した会社です。）

④ このビジネス界の巨人に30年程前に数回会議で会ったことがあります。
或るレセプションで、彼は突然平家物語の中から以下の引用をしました：
    祇園精舍の鐘の声、諸行無常の響きあり…
そして付け加えるに「通訳の女性が困るかもしれないけど…」。
