A Place Called BAROOM

BAROOM is a special place for me.

The first time I performed there was in autumn 2023,
at an experimental event curated by DJ Yabe Tadashi—
someone who had noticed my music early on.

We first met at a party at Foggy in Kumegawa, organized by DJ Kishi.
It was a night where Yabe-san played, and SINSUKE FUJIEDA GROUP performed live.
After the show, I gave him our CD and a 7-inch released from Okra印.
From then on, he often played our tracks in his DJ sets.
It meant a lot to me.

Then came the invitation to perform at BAROOM.
On the bill were Takuya Nakamura, Yabe-san himself, and my group.
It was an intimate, forward-thinking event.
I still remember how Yabe-san’s DJ set felt—deep, gentle, and aligned with my taste perfectly.
And beyond the music, his kindness and quiet respect for others left a lasting impression on me.

After the show, I saw him in the backstage area,
sitting down alone, finally relaxing just a little.
That quiet moment—his calm presence—stayed with me.

Not long after, Yabe-san passed away suddenly.
I couldn’t believe it.
And yet, what he gave me—his gaze, his sound, his generosity—still lives within me.

Now in July 2025, I return to BAROOM.
This time, with our own headline show.
A full house.
A new album.
And everything that led to this moment.

Yabe-san opened the door.
I’m just walking through it now—with my sound, with all my heart.
