Sly Stone "High on you"

This time I drew my favorite artist, Sly Stone. "High on You" is his solo album. It is not highly rated because it is not as impressive as "Stand!", "There's a Riot Goin' On" and "Fresh" from his Family Stone days. However, it is really enjoyable, from the sharp funk numbers to the songs with strings. I love this album. By the way, Sly Stone is still alive and retired, but he is a rare presence who embodied historical performances such as Woodstock.

今回は大好きなSly Stoneを描いてみた。「High on you」は彼のソロ名義のアルバム。Family Stone時代の「Stand!」や「There's a Riot Goin' On」、「Fresh」などの凄みが薄れているせいか世間での評価は低い。しかしながら切れ味鋭いファンク・ナンバーからストリングスを交えた楽曲など実に楽しめる。僕はこのアルバムが大好きだ。

ちなみにSly Stoneは今なお存命で隠居はしてしまったがWoodstockなどの歴史的公演を体現してきた貴重な存在だ。
