Thought Disablement Theory 5.0 — English Edition
A Topography of Pre‑Cognitive Conditions

Why I created an English edition
This work began as a long-term observation of how thinking quietly collapses and quietly returns. It was not constructed as a theory. It emerged as a terrain — a set of contours that became visible only after walking through periods of cognitive loss and recovery.
The Japanese edition mapped this terrain for readers who share my linguistic and cultural background. The English edition attempts something slightly different:to describe the same terrain in a language that reveals different contours.
What this work examines
Thought disablement is not a failure of ability. It is the collapse of the pre‑cognitive conditions that allow thinking to arise.
These conditions form three axes:
Distance — when it collapses, the world becomes pressure
Granularity — when it breaks, the world becomes mass or fragments
Intention — when it disappears, action becomes reaction
Modern society accelerates these collapses through its temporal, linguistic, organizational, and informational structures.
Recovery does not come from effort. It begins when these axes quietly reassemble and the world regains its contours.
What the English edition adds
The English version is not a translation. It is a reframing — a new map drawn in a different language.
English makes certain structures clearer:
the distinction between pressure and landscape
the idea of contours as perceivable structure
the circulation among Distance, Granularity, and Intention
the role of structural mechanisms that bypass thinking
The text is quieter, more spacious, and more topographical.

Both versions are available under a single Concept DOI:

This DOI links to:
the English edition (Version 5.0)
the Japanese edition (Version 5.0)
as two maps of the same terrain.
Closing note
This work is not an answer. It is an invitation to notice the conditions under which thinking becomes possible again.
If the terrain described here resonates with your own experience,I hope the English edition offers a slightly different vantage point —another way of seeing the same landscape.
Thank you for reading.
