Violent Wiccan Sex Offender
Excerpts and Commentary:
Brents regularly attended Wiccan services at the prison and displayed a pentagram on the wall of his cell, says his former cellmate - adding that Brents also tried to convert him. In 2002, Brents filed a complaint over the high prices of Wiccan and Pagan religious items at the prison.
Just like The Nation of Islam, Wicca is becoming quite a big thing in the prison system from what I've been hearing. I have no idea why this is the case.
Around Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood, the recently released Brents found work helping to renovate old houses. He slowly immersed himself in an eclectic community that, though it later reflected on intuitive misgivings about him, initially accepted him.
He frequented the "Oh My Goddess" coffee shop on East Colfax Avenue, where he came to know the owners, employees and customers. In an interview from jail, he called them "my closest friends and family."
There's a lot of moral relativism in Wicca and Wiccans can be far too trusting. It's the whole "you're far too judgmental, maaaaaan!" mentality that a lot of these hippy-dippy types have. They tend to view the world through rose-colored glasses.
His attempt to blend with the Capitol Hill community now appears to some locals as little more than a ruse, a predator scouting potential prey.
"He got this fatherly thing on," says the Capitol Hill resident, who asked not to be named. "Looking back, it's like a Chester the Molester thing."
Little more than a ruse? You Capitol Hill residents in your hippy-dippy Denver modern art ghetto just now figured this out? Sheesh!
If this "eclectic" little modern-art ghetto is anything like the one back in my hometown of Kansas City, the local Neo-Pagan community probably knew something was up way ahead of time but was reluctant to report it. A lot of Wiccans/Neo-Pagans have this paranoia about their community's dirty laundry being aired. They worry that it might lead to persecution or even another "Burning Times" as they call it. My former high priestess is still like this. In fact, there's a similar incident that she told me about right in my area...albeit less violent.
This old pagan geezer told some pagan chick that he needed her to help him "channel" his "undine lover"...an Undine being an elemental spirit of water...and that his wife who usually did it couldn't do the job as she was out of town. Funny thing, but he also told her that she needed to get into his hot tub and work herself into a trance state to acheive this feat. She agreed but told him that no sex was to be involved. Turns out that he went ahead and fucked her, anyway. I guess maybe this gal was real good at self-hypnosis or she just secretly wanted it. But my ex-high priestess said that it's being "handled within the community", even though she's all freaked about it.
Handled within the community? No police? Hypocritically, this same woman laughed over the Jim Baker scandal and the pedophile priests in Boston (though all of that did deserve to see the light of day). However, apparently the same rules just don't seem to apply to her own religion.
I'm so glad that I'm no longer in this religion because of people like that. Chomp my cock, pagan paranoiacs.
