Open Comet

The browser agent that works for you

Open Comet is a free, open-source browser agent (MIT license) that lets AI browse, research and act on any website while keeping your screen private. Before any AI model sees a screenshot, a five-stage on-device firewall redacts faces, credentials and personal information — and if the pipeline ever fails, the agent sends a blank frame instead of your pixels.

The agent brain runs where you choose: fully in your browser with Gemma 4 on WebGPU, on your own machine through Ollama, or through a cloud provider you configure. It ships a 12-skill library (summarize, extract data, fill forms, compare prices, monitor pages and more), page RAG, sub-agents and a task guardian that blocks purchase and delete clicks unless your own task text authorizes them.

Every claim is measured by OpenCometBench, the benchmark suite committed to the repository — PII precision and recall of 1.00/1.00 with zero leaked pixels across the tested suites. Open Comet works on Chrome, Chromium, Brave and Edge.
