Once a Ranger Part 1 Online

Have a pretty fast internet connection? Can't wait until July 23rd to experience the 15th anniversary saga of the Power Rangers?

Now, you don't need to.

Once a Ranger Part 1 has been posted to Jetix.tv. Simply go to that website, and find it in the list of videos to the right. The episode plays in ~5 minute clips, with commercials (or, in my case, the SAME Pokemon Battle Revolution commercial each time) in between all but the last three.

Putting this basically. Thrax shows up with a story similar to Rita's. He was imprisoned by the Sentinel Knight, but escaped. He is seeking revenge on the Knight and his Rangers, thankfully NOT some idea of "Destroy those that changed my parents."

Thrax unites the factions (Kamdor and Miratrix, Flurious, Moltor, and the Fearcats) into an Alliance of Evil. They beat the ever-living snot out of the Rangers, then Thrax unites all their evil energy and entirely severs the OO connection to the morphing grid, stripping the Rangers of their powers and literally DESTROYING the Overdrive Trackers.

The Sentinel Knight has something he "has to do" and leaves. The Rangers bravely decide to face the baddies again with only their genetic powers to aid them (and the vehicles and some basic blasters). The encounter Kamdor and one of the Fearcats looking for a jewel at Stonehenge, and get the snot beaten out of them once again. But then, it happens. Our former Rangers show up in all their glory. Xander first, then Bridge (remember, as SPD Red), Kira, and Tori. Then finally, causing a split in the Earth, and proudly wearing the MASTADON Power Coin, Adam. The send the baddies fleeing.

Meeting back at the mansion, the Sentinel Knight explains that the jewels were no longer protected, so he recruited a team of former Rangers to serve that purpose. Once again falling in the easiest explaination possible category, he explains that he was able to re-energize them with a bit of his own power. Then Bridge has one of his classic "Umm, ahh" monolouges where he explains his color. Just like most of us figured, Birdy retired to Miami, Commander Kruger became the head of SPD, Sky became the Commander of SPD Earth (and, we'd guess, Shadow Ranger), and Bridge was promoted from SPD Blue to SPD Red. The Sentinel Knight then boldly proclaims that this new team has REPLACED the Overdrive Rangers.

The team gathers in the mansion, saying they are glad to have some free time but looking sad. The new Rangers come in, awestruck over the Drive Zords (Tori specifically says "I can't wait to get into the seat of that Gyro Driver!"), and a discussion takes place where the former Rangers try to make the OOs feel better, but don't succeed. The alarm sounds. The former Rangers run off, and Ronny says "Don't know about you guys, but I have better things to do than stand around here."

The former Rangers find Flurious...blocking a road? Like, having the Chillers build a wall on it. Riiiight. Anyway, we see Adam show up on the HOVERTEK CYCLE and the Rangers kick butt again. Adam is then helping Mr. Hartford with the Trackers. He explains that Thrax did cut the OOs off from the morphing grid, but he's now reinforced it so Thrax can't cut this team off too. Adam seems to be the only one that cares about getting the new team on their feet, since we don't see anyone else even trying to help (like literally, noone else is even there). Hartford says he just doesn't have the technology to reconnect the Trackers to the grid. Adam thinks, smiles, and says "I think I know someone who does." A reference to another past character? Ay-yai-yai-yai-YAI! (and yes, from what I'm reading, that IS a hint).

The NUAoE (New United Alliance of Evil) is upset with Thrax that there are more Rangers (Flurious: Now Rangers are popping up like geraniums! Norg: Iiiiii LIKE gerManiums!), but Thrax has a monster ready for them.

Then, the drama. The OO Rangers go see Mr. Hartford, and explain since there is a new team of Rangers that has everything covered, they would like to leave. They give Dax the dramatic line, "We have decide to leave Operation Overdrive." To be continued.

The former Ranger stuff so far is awesome. It was amazing seeing a MMPR in action again. Pretty dynamic emotion, especially with the OOs feeling like the 6th-11th wheels. We didn't get a morphing sequence, but that's gotta be coming in Part 2.
