Coloring Tutorial
Someone asked me how I did the coloring for the pictures in my last wallpaper so I thought I'd make a tutorial here for general reference. I like this coloring because it reminds me of how old photos sometimes start to turn that reddish pink color. I'm using PSP 9 but I'm sure it's translatable to other programs. This tut will be image heavy so I'm putting it under a cut.
We'll be making this:

We'll be making this:

We'll use just one of the caps I used for the wallpaper. You can find it here.
Crop and resize the cap as per your liking. You could do this with an icon, but I'm just going to make a larger graphic like the ones I made in the wallpaper. I ended up with this crop:

Duplicate the layer and set the blend mode to screen. This will depend on the cap or photo you're using, some may need a couple of screen layers depending on how dark it is. You want to end up with something like this:

Merge all layers. Then Duplicate the layer. Go to Adjust>Sharpen. Why do I do it this way? Because then I can fade the sharpen by just adjusting the opacity on the duplicated layer. I set the opacity here to 80%. Then merge all again:

Now make a new layer and fill it with #9E9A9A. Set to Burn at 50%.

Make another new layer and fill it with #F1B386. Set to Burn at 30%.

Make another new layer and fill it with #111344. Set to Exclusion at 100%.

Now duplicate your base layer and drag it to the top of all your other layers. Set it to Soft Light at 100%. Desaturate it. (Shift + H, drag saturation slider all the way to bottom)

Make a new layer and fill it with #C8798E. Set to Screen at 30%.

Voila! You're done! Add borders and brushes as you like. :-)
