drabble? the post below me inspired me to post this :]

hey. i too wrote a little... um... thing. it's how i picture genesis when i listen to the beginning of it. i've never written any fanfiction before, so sorry if it sucks :-/

thanks for reading!

in the beginning, there was nothing but darkness, darkness and the sort of silence so thick and viscous that it coats and settles, festering, numbing like paralysis.

He sat in the middle of infinity, eyes closed. a grin trickled faintly over His lips but His body was static-

until

until.

He raised His arms, gesturing, sweeping widely. the exertion sent vibrations through His open palms.

for a snapshot of frozen time there was no change.

but then the color came.

not light.

color.

color, hues of darkness so velvety and fragile that they would shatter any human heart. the vacuum hummed and buzzed with electric life as the shades of night transformed into a thousand angels, sliding and melting in shadow. two shapes shone darker than the rest, circling around each other like a multidimensional yin-yang.

come, He whispered, shattering the quiet.

the angels flocked to His feet and dissolved.

we must build a world, He stated. it is our destiny.

you. He pointed to the two glowing energies at His feet, watching for a moment as the pair webbed and weaved, flighty, elusive, then fading into a single entity.

ahrima. nidria. your gifts set you apart from the others. you will lead the beings i create and help them find light in this abyss. build a series of lamps, strung above to illuminate what is below.

as He talked, the two angels, ahrima and nidria, shimmered at the edges. they blurred, vanishing into inky nonexistence, but then began to solidify.

the shapes took a strange form, stretching out sinews and lanky limbs and eyes blank white, unseeing. the synchronized thudding of two heartbeats echoed dully in His ears.

good, He crooned, good.

all was still but for the contracting and relaxing of two foreign muscles.

then, suddenly, He opened His eyes.

solid and milky, a stark contrast to the murmuring gloom around Him, they glittered, smoldered in the dark.

build reality, my angels. let this be the genesis.
