Tim Jones

Having first discovered Record Collector as a reader in 1985, Tim Jones joined the magazine in 1998 and has been an integral part of the editorial team ever since. As News Editor, he produces the news section for every issue, as well as exclusive news stories for X, Apple News and the Record Collector website. He also compiles the Vinylist listings, My Precious and Talking Heads Q&As, and the Gig Guide, while overseeing the magazine’s live reviews and RC Investigates.

Beyond his regular editorial responsibilities, Tim contributes feature, cover and section ideas, as well as additions to the Rare Record Price Guide. His own collecting journey began with Blondie in 1976 and later expanded to include artists such as Kim Wilde, ASIA, Altered Images, Big Country and Barclay James Harvest. His musical tastes encompass AOR, melodic and hard rock, pop-rock, melodic metal and progressive rock.
