What Is This Plan?

Every five years, San Bernardino County updates its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, a roadmap for reducing damage from disasters before they happen. 

This plan identifies:

  • The biggest risks facing our community from natural hazards
  • The communities and systems most vulnerable
  • Practical solutions that can reduce future losses

Why This Matters To You

This update will help influence:

  • Where risk-reduction projects are funded
  • How communities are protected
  • How we prepare for future disasters

 

What This Plan Doesn't Do

This plan does not:

  • Create new taxes
  • Change zoning rules
  • Require property upgrades
  • Directly change insurance rates

It is about planning smarter and investing wisely before the next disaster occurs.
