Robert Reed Carradine (/ˈkærədiːn/ KARR-ə-deen; March 24, 1954 – February 23, 2026) was an American actor. His father was actor John Carradine and his brother is actor Keith Carradine.

His first movie role was in The Cowboys. He was known for his roles as Lewis Skolnick in the Revenge of the Nerds movies and Sam McGuire in the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire.

Carradine hung himself to death at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California on February 23, 2026, at the age of 71.[1] He had bipolar disorder at the time of his death.[2][3] He had checked himself into the psychiatric unit of the hospital on January 13.[4]
