The Tragically Hip were a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario. The Tragically Hip had four members in the band; Rob Baker, Gord Sinclair, Johnny Fay and Paul Langlois. Singer Gord Downie died in 2017, causing the band to break up.

The band was formed in 1983. They released a self-titled EP in 1987 and released their first album Up to Here on August 30, 1989. The band released their eleventh studio album, Now for Plan A, in 2012. The band was given a star on Canada's Walk of Fame in 2002 and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2005.[1] They have won many Juno Awards as well.
