What's the trick to get first blueprint?

I've spent over an hour trying to get to the first blueprint. I'm struggling to get the cheese sized and placed so I can jump without falling short or bumping into the ceiling and falling down.
The walkthroughs I've seen don't help at all.

Same here..
Cheese keeps falling into the floor, and I can not jump over..

There is a grabbable exit sign above one of the doors. It's easier to position.

With the cheese only, you can also jump onto the pipe and walk through the gap

After two days, on and off, I finally got the cheese the right size. I'll never eat cheese again.

I have the same problem...falling into gap. I have been restarting from the beginning each time which is 5x. Is there a way to start other than at the beginning of the game?? Can I save the game somewhere, so if I don't make the jump, I don't have to go all the way back to the start?? help!!!

Hit Escape and click "Restart from checkpoint"?

I did that, but once you fall in the hole, your checkpoint is the bed... any other suggestions? Thank you for trying.

Don't fall completely in the hole. Once you notice yourself falling, immediately hit escape and restart from the checkpoint before you touch the bed at the bottom.

This is easiest to do with the exit sign. Grab it, place it half over the pit and half on the ground. Once the physics stabilize, use it to jump across.

I ended up with the cheese sticking partially over the hole so it didnt fall and then ran and jumped. The height of the cheese and shorter distance made it possible.
