So I haven't checked this game in a while...
Kind of lost interest in it (cause it never worked) but let me see if I got it right:

- The game released with paid early access option.
- The game then went free on release.
- The game then went paid through a completely new version, including hush-hush key distribution that most owners of the first version probably missed.
- The new version of the game is now doomed for good because the devs are gone.

Is that about right?

Hi Detrian,

What is true is that there won't be any further upgrade to the game, we are however not gone. If you have any support request we are still handling them.
There just wasn't enough interest from the gamers to sustain any further development, but the game as it is still holds a lot of tactical depth.

From my personal perspective: Publishers (especially nowadays) will only pick up games that are garanteed to make money.

But we are open for anyone to speak to us about funding any development of the game.

How large is the staff as opposed to how large it was when Aerena was launch?

Also i played Aerena when it was F2P and bought all the champions and maybe a ship or 2 is there anyway i can be let into the current game or has that ship sailed?

AErena doesn't have any dedicated staff anymore. The whole company currently has 8 part time employees and our two founders all of which need to work on all three of our games and secure future work.

You can play your old Aerena version without any problem it is still there for all users who already bought it. If you can't find it in your library follow steam://install/247830 and it will be installed again.

Quick question:
i thought if i bought the new version of the game i would have acceszs to all content, but actually everything is locked except 4 characters..did i miss something?

Yeah, i mean the characters are extreamly cheap to buy with in game currency aleast
