ASTRO BOT

Story: You are flying throughout the galaxy in your spaceship when all of a sudden, a giant alien appears and attacks you, separating you from all your friends and the spaceship! Now you must track down and rescue your ship, ship parts, and friends across the galaxy. Gameplay: Astro Bot is a platformer, there’s the standard attack and jump button but the key thing about the gameplay is the unique power ups that you acquire in certain levels. There’s a rocket booster power up, boxing power up, time stop power up, and they’re all so much fun to use! Graphics: The graphics are beautiful, even breathtaking at times. There’s so many different levels from volcanos, frozen tundras, grassy wetlands, flower fields, abandoned islands, the sea, or even deep space! Music: The music is not only nostalgic it’s also very upbeat and fun! Replayabilty: There’s only a tiny amount of replayabilty with you being able to go back to previous levels and recollect bots you missed but that’s about it. Astro Bot is an extremely fun platforming game that also may be really nostalgic to some older gamers. I highly recommend this gem!

Wasn't entirely sure why this game had won game of the year. Sure it looked cute and fun but compared to everything else that released this felt out of place. Well after finishing this I can firmly say it deserved that title. It's a celebration of everything that made PlayStation, even if some of the games featured didn't launch on PlayStation. Getting the platinum for this felt like a thank you and a goodbye.

An absolute delight and feast for the eyes and ears. Fundamentally fun from start to finish. Lovely 100%.

So much fun, creativity, and joy wrapped up in this game. I loved almost everything about it.

I loved Astro’s Playroom and wanted to love Astro Bot too. But, this game is way too hard and most of the game will remain unlocked and inaccessible for me. It was a blast while it lasted. They should have made it with easy, medium and hard options.

This is my favorite game on PS5. I loved Astro's Playroom, and I always wanted more; my dream came true. It hearkens back to Super Mario 64 in how it inspires joy with each single frame of animation and sound-effect. Astro Bot differentiates himself from Mario by being "cute". I wouldn't say that Mario himself inspires the perception of "cuteness", but Astro Bot does. Some people say it's just a ripoff of Nintendo in general, but everyone copies each other. Even Nintendo, who are kings of innovation, copies other games. The question is, "Is this game fun? Does it make you happy?" The answer to both questions is "Yes". Really fun platformer. Would reccomend.

The base game was already one of the best Platformers of the DECEADE, and every additional update only added to the enjoyment. 100% recommend 10/10 times. Worth the price.
