Store code [store_code]

The store code [store_code] attribute is used to specify the unique alphanumeric identifier of a local store. For vehicle ads, this attribute allows repeated fields, meaning you can submit multiple values. For local inventory ads, this attribute doesn’t allow multiple values.

How to find your store code

  1. Go to the “Products & store”section in your Merchant Center account.

  2. Select Products.
  3. From the products list, select a product and navigate to its “Product details” page.
  4. Locate the “Stores” table, store codes will be visible for that store if you’ve actually uploaded the related inventory data for the relevant store.

Minimum requirements

You must meet these requirements to show your product in Merchant Center. If you don't follow these requirements, your product will be disapproved. If your product isn’t approved, you’ll receive a notification in the Diagnostics page in your Merchant Center account.

  • This attribute is case sensitive and must match the store codes that you submit in your Business Profiles.
  • For vehicle ads, if using a store data source, your store code [store_code] attribute must match the code in your store data source.
Note: Any combination of letters and/or numbers can be set as your store code.

For your local inventory product offer, submit the store code [store_code] associated with the Google Business Profile or store feed-based store with the product in your Product sources > Supplemental sources > Local inventory data source.

For your in-store fulfillment vehicle offer, submit the store code [store_code] associated with the Google Business Profile or store feed-based dealership hosting your vehicle in your Product sources > Vehicle data source.

  • Link_template with Store Code: If applicable, ensure your link template [link_template] attribute includes the store code placeholder, for example, ?store={store_code}, to direct users to the vehicle's specific page on your dealership's site.
  • Data Source Targeting: Ensure your vehicle data source is set to target 'Vehicle Ads' only, as other destinations like 'Shopping ads' or 'Free listings' have different attribute requirements which can cause disapprovals if store code [store_code] is used in the wrong context.
