Pandamonium

wesleydodds . Thank you! <3 I might write a bit more to it for a slightly better conclusion, we'll see.

In the corner of the luxurious, somewhat wasted office, there sat the thing. It had been perched on a stack of books, next to the extensive shelves full of documents and literature. If one looked at it for the first time, never having been inside this domain before, they might just think it childish.
Namie's arm hastily scrammed a rogue lock of hair from her vision, exiling it to behind her ear. Although she tried to focus her interest and concentration on the notes and folders infront of her, it was just no use. The thing was staring at her.
The sun was dappling low in the sky, casting rich and golden hues throughout Izaya's lair of god-complex meddling. In the distance, the horizon rippled, and lights from buildings below began flaring to life. The warm glint and the honey atmosphere did little to distract her mind's eye. A glassy stare continued to penetrate through her thoughts. Izaya seemed blissfully unaware of her predicament (or, perhaps it was more likely that he was acutely aware of it - that would have made more sense), and was engrossed in an online chat hosted within his glowing computer screen.
Raking her slightly exasperated gaze back infront of her, Namie's eye once more caught the steady, unwavering stare of that thing.
It's soft, acrylic fur bristled into clumps along the seams of its limbs. A set expression, designed to be as endearing as possible, seemed to mock her from its place across the room. It was a simply made toy. Arms spread wide and invitingly, and a souless cheer emitting from its stitchings, it was so very, very annoying.
As Namie's fingers loosened their grip on the card folder in her grasp, Izaya inclined his head fractionally in her direction .
"I take it you like my little animal, then."
"Oh please," The only other human in the room drawled, masking her slight surprise. "It's faker than your mom's breasts."
Her employer let out a short, sharp bark of laughter at that, before he continued to type at his usual erratic pace. A few more moments passed in relative silence. The only sound in the entire, spacious office came from the methodical clicking of computer keys, as Izaya relayed his messages to whomever was unfortunate enough to read them.
Just as she was about to unwittingly turn her attention back to the black and white attention whore perched next to the shelves, Izaya addressed her once more,
"You know you want to."
Namie blinked once in bemused silence.
"What?"
The self-proclaimed lover of mankind itself slowed in his typing for once, fully turning his head towards his aide. He regarded her almost imperiously, with a slight upward turn of his cunning lips. Inwardly, Namie sneered to herself. The cryptic basta-
"You know you want to hug it. I can sense it."
Without her consious control, Namie's face and her palm met with an alarming force.
God, this guy was such an ass.
"I hate you, you know."
"I know."
The typing returned full force, and Namie's baleful stare was once more drawn to the fake panda sitting directly opposite her, perched on a pile of wildlife books. The irony. At this point, there simply was no denying it. Why, where, how and for whom that panda was sitting there for became an irrelevant blur of infant desire.
Namie couldn't help herself. She just had to hug that panda.
But could she do it infront of Izaya?
