RP: Ron finds a new residence
Date: 22 September 2001
Characters: Ron, Luna
Status: Public
Summary: Ron wakes up at the Leaky.
Completion: Incomplete
The sound of an owl pecking at the window roused Ron from his sleep.
"Bugger!" Ron rolled out of bed and walked towards the window, freezing midway. "Where the fuck…"
He looked around the room. This was not his bedroom. This was not any bedroom in his home. The clock on the nightstand told him that it was almost noon, meaning he missed practice.
Pieces from the night before flashed in his mind. Blinding Rita. Talking with Ginny. Ginny leaving. Another bottle of Firewhiskey. Tom giving him a key. Stumbling up the stairs.
The owl continued to peck.
"Keep your feathers on!" Ron snapped.
He untied the note from the owl's leg and groaned. It was from his coach. He left the window open for the owl to leave and sat on the edge of the bed.
With shaky hands, he opened it, hoping that it wasn't a letter telling him not to come back.
Weasley, This is your final warning! You had better be at practice on Monday. Sober. And playing your best game ever or you've worn your Cannons uniform for the last time!
Ron sighed and flopped down on the bed. He couldn't seem to get out from under this vicious cycle. He wanted to go to practice. He swore when he walked into the Leaky last night that he was only going to eat and then go home.
But he didn't want to go home. Without Neville it was just a house.
After a quick shower, Ron dressed and went downstairs.
It was lunch time, so the Leaky was crowded. Ron found a seat at the bar and ordered two bacon sandwiches and a pint.
"One more thing, Tom. I'd like to keep the room upstairs for… er, for an indefinite period."
