Pattaya
On May 6th, 2026, at the Thapphraya Meeting Room, Pattaya City Hall, Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet presided over the opening ceremony of the “Reduce Belly, Reduce Disease, Adjust Behaviors for Good Health” project for fiscal year 2026.
The initiative is to encourage residents to pay greater attention to their health and reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease continue to rise in Pattaya and across Thailand. The main causes are unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, including excessive consumption of sweet, fatty, and salty foods, lack of physical exercise, and work-related stress.

This is the second consecutive year the project has been organized. Its primary goals are to help participants achieve stronger physical health, reduce waist circumference, and adopt sustainable healthy behavioral changes. Participants are expected to become role models in taking care of themselves, their families, and the wider community.
A total of 60 residents have joined the program, which will run for three months. Participants will meet with experts once a month for ongoing progress monitoring, health advice, and support in maintaining long-term lifestyle improvements.

Pattaya City continues to prioritize proactive health promotion campaigns to build a healthier, more resilient population capable of supporting sustainable community development.
