Dutch Tourist Robbed of Gold Necklace Worth 140,000 Baht on Pattaya Beach, Group of Transgender Women Main Suspects

Pattaya, Thailand – A Dutch tourist has filed a police complaint after his gold necklace, valued at approximately 140,000 baht (around 4,000 euros), went missing while he was walking on Pattaya Beach early on Friday morning. Police suspect the item was stolen by a group of transgender women who approached him.

The incident was reported at 3:30 a.m. on June 12th, 2026, when Mr. Ferdy, accompanied by his Thai female friend, visited Pattaya City Police Station to lodge the complaint.

According to the report, Mr. Ferdy left his hotel in Soi 9, Pattaya, between 12:45 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. He was walking along the beach from Soi 9 toward central Pattaya to enjoy the atmosphere when a group of two to three transgender women, whose identities are unknown, approached him. They struck up a conversation, became friendly, hugged him, and then left the area.

Mr. Fredy told police he only realized the necklace was missing later when he met his friend on the beach. He insisted he had been wearing the necklace continuously and had not removed it at any point.

The theft is believed to have occurred in the area between Soi 7 and Soi 9 on Pattaya Beach, near the Pattaya police station.

Pol Lt Col Thongsak Inphadung, investigator at Pattaya City Police Station, accepted the complaint and has assigned a team to review CCTV footage from the area and track down those involved. Legal proceedings will follow once suspects are identified.

Pattaya Beach is a popular nightlife destination, but visitors are often warned to remain vigilant against petty theft and skilled pickpockets, especially late at night.
