Pattaya, July 10th, 2026– Police from Pattaya City Police Station’s Dongtan Curve branch rushed to the scene after receiving a report of a gunman firing at a civilian’s vehicle near the entrance of Soi five across from the busy morning Rompho Market around 6:30 AM today, scaring morning shoppers and tourists.
Officers found a white Honda City sedan, registered in Nakhon Ratchasima with plate number งฉ 2574, bearing a bullet hole on the driver’s side door. The vehicle owner, 35-year-old Mr. Thawatchai (Boy) Konklang, was at the scene cooperating with police and confirmed that no one was injured.

According to Mr. Thawatchai’s statement, the incident began when he exchanged glances with a neighbor known only by the nickname “Oh” while reversing his car out of his home in Soi Jomtien 3. The brief stare led to a minor argument. After he drove away, an acquaintance of the other man allegedly followed him in another vehicle and opened fire.
He added that the same group had previously attempted to intimidate him by brandishing a gun in front of his house, but the weapon jammed and failed to fire. CCTV footage captured that earlier incident in full. This time, the assailant succeeded in shooting at the moving car, causing visible damage.

A foreign expat witness to the incident who wished to remain anonymous said he had just left Rompho market for breakfast and was walking back home when he heard the gunshots from about fifty feet behind him. Recognizing them as gunshots, he said he took cover nearby briefly as one unidentified vehicle raced away and the vehicle that had been fired upon pulled over immediately while construction workers from a nearby condo project rushed over to see if anyone needed assistance.

Police collected evidence at the scene, including two spent .380-caliber shell casings, which were seized for forensic examination. The victim has filed a formal complaint, and authorities are now actively pursuing the suspect and his accomplices for legal action.
