Phuket Airport Immigration Launches Automatic Border Control

Phuket –

On June 13, 2026, Phuket International Airport Immigration officially introduced the Automatic Border Control (ABC) system, marking a significant step toward modernizing passenger processing.

Travelers can now self-process passport checks using biometric technology and electronic passports (E-Passports). The system is designed to reduce waiting times and ease congestion at immigration checkpoints. Eligible passengers holding valid E-Passports can use the service, provided they meet the specified criteria. The system is not available for non-E-Passport holders or passengers undergoing special screening procedures.

Authorities said that the ABC system reflects their commitment to enhancing convenience, speed, and efficiency, while also improving the overall travel experience for passengers.
