American who Allegedly Assaulted Jet-Ski Operator in Patong Arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport Trying to Flee Country

Patong –

Patong police have arrested a 25‑year‑old American man at Suvarnabhumi Airport after he allegedly assaulted a jet ski operator in Phuket and attempted to flee the country.

On July 7th, 2026, the suspect, identified only as Mr. Damien, rented two jet skis from Mr. Natthawut, a local operator in Patong. When the equipment was returned reportedly damaged, Mr. Natthawut demanded compensation. The tourist refused to pay and walked away toward Bangla Road.

The dispute escalated when Mr. Natthawut followed him to Soi Sea Dragon, where Williamson allegedly attacked the operator, leaving him injured before fleeing the scene. The incident quickly spread on social media, drawing widespread public attention.

Following an investigation by Patong Police, officers tracked Damien to Suvarnabhumi Airport on July 8th, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m. He was preparing to leave Thailand when police intercepted and detained him.

Damien has since been transferred back to Patong Police Station to face legal proceedings. Authorities said that the case demonstrates swift coordination between local investigators and airport police to ensure accountability for crimes involving tourists.
