Having ADHD feels like playing a video game but you can only progress the main story after completing at least 3 time-wasting, several hour long, useless sidequests every day

People act like ppl that struggle with time blindness think "oh well, I'll be late, they can wait for me who cares." but actually at every moment I'm thinking "god why am i such a useless piece of shit I don't want to wake up tomorrow and just have to do all of this over again"

The thing is it's not just losing track of time, it's not knowing how long something will take. I can give myself an extra hour to get ready, but the shower I thought would take 10 minutes took 30, because I can't intuitively gauge how long something will take. +

I don't understand the whole "time blindness" excuse for constantly being late for shit. Most phones have alarms on them, why not just set alarms (multiple if necessary) so you don't lose track of time?

I need anyone who engages in this discourse to please take a second and give people some grace. It's particularly frustrating seeing pther ADHD people in the comments saying "I have time blindness but i don't do this" like it's easy. +

Never used to believe this but after dating someone with ADHD yeah it really works like that. “Oh I don’t have to be there until 10 cool” and then they inexplicably add more shit to the morning until they’re late again

I got a coworker who claimed she couldn't show up at 9 because she has adhd. She regularly rolled in at 10. Our boss decided that she'd give her a bone and set our core, in-office hours as 10-3. Coworker started rolling up at 11.

I got told when this happens to tense your entire body, every muscle, as tight as you can, hold it for a few seconds, then completely relax. Apparently it can trick your nervous system into calming tf down- I don't know how it works but it lowkey does help
