I've been putzin around and noticed some questions that haven't really been fully addressed.
The "newsletter that should be coming in the mail" is the m-bander which freshman may have gotten at the summer info sessions or earlier in the summer.
That has our schedule for the year (which is still very tenative so keep weekends clear) as well as a smart packers list.
We will be moving into the dorms on the second to last day of band camp. Don't worry about the details precisly, just show up and hold on for the ride, we'll guide you the whole way.
The only detail I would like to stress is to please don't bring everything you own unless you have a car you can keep it in/transport it in. The band is run by a student staff who is happy to assist in moving your luggage for you but we have a large band this year and even 400 bags is a lot to handle, never mind if everyone brings a whole dorm set.
You will have Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon, sunday and monday to settle into campus and work out with your family as to how/when your stuff could be brought in.
Music was sent out today so hopefully it should be arriving to the far flung reaches of the globe by the end of the week.
I just got back from some time with Mr. Parks and the drum majors and we're all in agreement that this has the makings of a really terrific year...can't wait for it to get started!
