William Doran is a Middle East Researcher at the Institute for the Study of War. He interned with ISW and the Critical Threats Project in the summers of 2024 and 2025, covering the West Bank and Syria.
William earned his Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service in December 2025, where he majored in International Politics and minored in History.
Before joining ISW, William also interned with CENTCOM and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Turkey Program, where he co-authored research reports on Turkish elections, military interventions, and terrorist financing.
William is currently studying Turkish and Arabic and has experience in cartography with ArcGIS and QGIS.
