Mammalian Behaviour and Evolution
Research integrates behaviour, ecology, biochemistry, physiology, proteomics, pathology and molecular genetics, with an underlying evolutionary approach. Specific areas of study currently include:
- Biochemical and behavioural mechanisms and functions of olfactory communication
- Habitat factors determining spatial dispersion and social structure in small mammals
- Sexual selection, mating strategies and resource allocation strategies
- Laboratory animal welfare
- Assessment of individual and population behaviour using molecular techniques
- Behaviour, olfaction and disease.
