The Department of Recreation manages the Borough's special events, reviewing applications from organizations and also managing borough events such as the Restaurant Festival, Halloween Parade, and Turks Head Festival. In addition, staff manages rentals of park facilities by occasional and recurring users to provide service for youth, adults, and cultural attractions such as music, film, and art. The Director also collaborates with staff to recommend maintenance and capital improvements for the Borough's parks and open space.

In 2025, the Borough worked with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc and Toole Recreation Planning to develop a borough-wide plan for the future of West Chester parks and open space. Click on the image below for more information.

    You can request a street banner by completed the Banner Application Form and email it to parksandrecreation@west-chester.com.

  2. Park Rentals

    If you would like to rent park for a function, you can submit your park reservation request through the Civicrec.com platform.

  3. Program & Vendor Registration

    If you want to register for a program or a vendor space submit your information through the Civicrec platform.

  4. Special Event Application

    Submit your application through the SmartGov platform.
