Australasian Association for Theatre, Drama and Performance Studies

ADSA is the peak academic association promoting the study of drama in any performing medium throughout the region. ADSA represents members of staff and postgraduate students of Australasian institutions of tertiary education who are engaged in teaching, research and practice in theatre, drama and performance studies. Directors of associated theatres and members of the profession are also active members. ADSA’s annual conference is usually held in December.

The ADSA Board thanks everyone who has registered their interest in participating in the 2026 Mentorship Program. We will call for expressions of interest for the 2027 Mentorship Program next year.


 

AusStage — The Australian Live Performance Database

ADSA Ltd is a supporter of AusStage, which provides an accessible online resource for researching live performance in Australia. Development is led by a consortium of universities, government agencies, industry organisations and collecting institutions with funding from the Australian Research Council and other sources. AusStage is incribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World register, and its international partners include IbsenStage, Performing Glastonbury and Theatre Aotearoa. We encourage ADSA members and friends to contribute their research to the database.
