The book does a good job representing an immersive futuristic setting while keeping the technology is grounded and believable. The author does a good job of keeping exposition to a minimum and to the point. However, the book's strongest aspect is the characters and dialogue as they all feel so human and well balanced. As for the structure and pace of the story, some bits could have been shorter or gone by faster and near the end I felt the pace should have been slowed down. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot.

Enjoyable novel. Strong, distinct voice and characters for the most part. Interesting sort of split structure, of which I enjoyed the second half more. Unsure if this is part of a series, but the ending could be conclusive enough.

Looking forward to the future to see if/how the story unfolds for the main characters from here on out.

Great dialogues, strong side cast but with slow pace. However upon reading the whole thing, I see the 1st half of the story as one big Chekhov's Gun

Interesting war story but the buildup is a bit slow. The first half is slowly paced, I would have preferred it faster. But the main three characters make it interesting enough. Good work overall.

Great read from a young author. Very fluent storyline, keeps you on edge whole way through. Technology in book is well thought through, can see it in reality in a generation.

This book gotta be the best book I have ever read written by a Newcomer author.

The way Mr. Cross manages to me into the world of his fiction that well on his first work is just mind-blowingly amazing. There's so much talent sleeping here, I am very excited what this author got in store for us next 😊

Interesting reading from a young and up and coming author.

An captivating story about friendship. It really makes you feel like one in the group, sitting at the bar with the boys. The buildup may feel slow at start, but the pace is well balanced IMO and it really gives you time to get to know the characters and paint a beautiful setting in every situation.

I'm excited to see what more this young and upcoming author has in store for us in the future!

He might well be the next big deal!
