Crisis Services
Students experiencing a mental health crisis can be seen immediately at CAPS during office hours, no appointment needed.
After hours, crisis support is available. Contact Public Safety at 843-349-2911 to be connected with an on-call counselor.
When to contact CAPS (during business hours):
- You or a student is in distress but safe
- You need to talk to a counselor urgently
- You are experiencing anxiety, panic, or emotional overwhelm
When to contact CCU Public Safety
- There is immediate danger or risk of harm
- Someone is suicidal or has a plan to hurt themselves
- Someone is experiencing severe confusion, disorientation, or psychotic symptoms
Talk to a Counselor Anytime with Timely Care
Students can access virtual counseling support through TimelyCare, a free service available to CCU students. TimelyCare allows you to speak with a licensed counselor by phone or video with little to no wait time.
This is a great option if you:
- Need to talk to someone outside of CAPS business hours
- Prefer virtual support
- Want immediate, on-demand counseling
