Initial Screening

Method: Online Application + Online Assessment

Focus:

I applied through my college's placement cell by filling out a Microsoft Forms application. After submitting the form, shortlisted candidates received an email inviting them to take the online assessment.

Candidates who cleared the assessment received a call explaining the next steps. During the call, the recruitment team informed us about the interview schedule and instructed us to attend the technical interview in person at Target India's office in Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru.

Around 35 MCQs covering Aptitude and Core Computer Science subjects.

Two coding questions with Easy to Moderate difficulty.

Technical Round

The interview was primarily resume-driven. Most of the questions were based on the technologies, skills, and projects mentioned in my resume.

Although I had applied for the Target India Apprenticeship Program, I was interviewed by a React Front-End Developer. The discussion focused mainly on my Computer Science fundamentals and project experience.

Casual Discussion

The interviewer was very friendly and made the interview conversational. Along with technical questions, he asked about my native place and my hobbies. When I mentioned cricket as one of my hobbies, we had a brief discussion about the IPL and the franchise I support.

Obstacles:

There were no major obstacles during the interview. The biggest takeaway was that every project, skill, and technology mentioned on the resume should be well prepared, as the interview was heavily based on the resume.

Additional Information

After the interview, it took approximately two weeks to receive an update. I received an email informing me that I had successfully cleared the interview process. A follow-up call was then scheduled, during which the recruitment team informed me that I would be receiving a Letter of Intent (LOI). A few days later, I received the official Offer Letter, and I joined the Target India Apprenticeship Program around 15–20 days after receiving the offer letter.
