UFO's over London, causing quite a stir [Jul. 4th, 2011|09:06 pm]
..
“Several high quality videos depicting what appear to be UFOs over London have been attracting the attention of the media. The videos were taken from different parts of the city and reveal glowing white orbs whizzing between clusters of clouds. One video shows a larger orb—which has been dubbed the “mothership”—holding position for some time over the BBC building.

In addition to the objects, the footage also captures small crowds of people looking up at the sky—lending credibility to it not being a photo-shopped hoax. The presence of these other people, however, has led some to insist this was a staged form of guerrilla marketing—a kind of “Orson Welles-lite” meant to garner attention for one of several sci-fi movies due to come out over the next year. According to this theory, the orbs are merely simple CGI, and the people on the street are actors.”

We certainly aren’t alone in this universe, and the enormous numbers of reported UFO sightings over the past few decades all across the globe seem to concur…

I saw one when I was 9 in Florida. It was seen by six other people and it was nothing like swamp gas or heat lightning or a rocket launch or any other skeptical explanation...i will never forget the feeling of knowing in my core that there was a higher intelligence which was piloting this craft, and that they knew I was looking up at them in that moment...

Guatemala in State of Siege Following Drug Cartel Mass Killing; Two Suspects Killed, One Arrested

Guatemalan police claim to have killed two members of a violent Mexican drug cartel believed to be responsible for a mass killing that left 27 people dead over the weekend. Guatemalan authorities say a third member of the cartel, known as Los Zetas, was arrested. Meanwhile, Guatemalan President Álvaro Colom has declared a state of siege in the northern region of the country that will last until at least Tuesday as authorities search for more suspects. Police have been granted the right to conduct night raids and carry out arrests and searches without warrants and also curtail rights of expression and assembly.

Egypt's Internet Shutdown Can't Stop Mass Protests [Jan. 29th, 2011|02:16 pm]
..
"Protesters have flooded the streets of Alexandria and Suez. In Cairo, they’re publicly praying in the thoroughfare. And the Egyptian government can’t seem to stop them, despite the crackdown on internet access and cellular communications.

The past four days’ worth of protests in Egypt, spurred by those that dethroned the Tunisian government Jan. 14, have been accelerated by social media. The #Jan25 hashtag gave the leaderless revolt an internal organizing tool and global communications reach.

So it shouldn’t be surprising that the Mubarak regime responded by ordering the withdrawal of more than 3,500 Border Gateway Protocol routes by Egyptian service providers, shutting down approximately 88 percent of the country’s internet access, according to networking firm BGPMon.

But the so-called “Day of Wrath” is uninterrupted. On al-Jazeera a few minutes ago, a functionary from Mubarak’s National Democratic Party called the uprising “unprecedented” and conceded that the government needs a “nontraditional way of dealing with this,” including “action against corruption, against poverty … [giving] more freedoms.” He said all this while police and the Army are firing tear gas at the demonstrators."
