hundred and fifty-two thousand and forty-two (152,04%), of which number Marshall Cousins received sixty-nine thousand two hundred and sixty (69,265), Edward F. Dithmar received eighty- two thousand seven hundred and twelve (82,712), and there were sixtyfive (65) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid, it appears that the total number or votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Secretary of State on the Republican ticket was one hundred and forty-eight thousand one hundred and seven (148,107), of. which number Geo. L. Harrington received seventy thousand eight hundred and eighty-two (70,882), Merlin Hull received seventy-seven thousand one hundred and sixty-six (77,166), and there were fifty-nine (59) scattering votes; That from the certifled returns made as aforesaid, it appears that the total number or votes given for the nomination of a candidate for State Treasurer on the Republican ticket was one hundred and fifty thousand four hundred and ninety (160,490), of which number Henry Johnson received eighty-four thousand two hundred and twenty-tive (84,225), Alvin B. Peterson received sixty-six thousand two hundred and thirteen (66,213), and there were fiftytwo (52) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Attorney General on the Republican ticket was one hundred and fifty thousand three hundred and fifty-four (150,354), of which number Emmett R. Hicks received fiftyfour thousand four hundred and fortyone (54,441), Walter C. Owen received ninety-five thousand eight hundred and sixty-six (95,866), and there were fortyseven (47) scattering votes; We do, therefore, hereby determine and certify that Emanuel L. Philipp, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Governor; That Edward F. Dithmar, having received the greatest number of votes, 18 duly nominated as the Republican can• didate for Lieutenant Governor; That Merlin Hull, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Secretary of State; That Henry Johnson, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate tor State Treasurer; That Walter C. Owen, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate | for Attorney General. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, We have hereunto set our hands. D. 1916, being the fifth day of said month. That from the certified statements made as aforesaid, it appears that the whole number of votes given for the nomination for United States Senator on the Republican ticket was One Hundred and Sixty-Six Thousand Three Hundred and Sixty-Seven (166,367), of which number Malcolm G. Jeffris received Sixty-Six Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy-Six (66,576); Robert M. La Follette received Ninety Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty (99,720), and there were Seventy-One (71) scattering votes; We do, therefore, determine and certify that Robert M. La Follette, having received the greatest number of votes, is declared the nominee for United States Senator on the Republican ticket; IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, We have hereunto set our hands, at the Capitol, in the City of Madison, this nineteenth day of September, A. That from the certifled returns made as aforesald from the First Congressional District, comprised of the counties of Kenosha, Racine, Rock, Walworth and Waukesha, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Twelve Thousand Three Hundred and Sixty-Nine (12,369), of which number Henry Allen Cooper received Twelve Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty-Four (12,334), and there were Thirty-Five (35) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made 88 aforesaid from the Second Congressional District, comprised of the counties of Columbia, Dodge, Jefferson, Ozaukee, Sheboygan and Washington, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Nine Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty-Eight (9,768), of which number Henry Krumrey received Three Thousand Nine dred and Thirty-Four (3,934); Edward Volgt received Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty-Five (5,785); and there were Forty-Nine (49) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid from the Third Congressional District, comprised of the coun-| ties of Crawford, Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette and Richland, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred and Forty-Five (17,- 645), of which number John M. Nelson received Ten Thousand Eight Hundred and Nine (10,809); James G. Monahan received Six Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty-Seven (6,827); and there were Nine (9) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid from the Fourth Congressional District comprised of part of Milwauke County, It appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Ten Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty-Two (10,332), of which number William J. Cary received Six Thousand Six Hundred and Four (6,604); James F. Hefferman received Three Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety-Five (3,695), and there were Thirty-Three (33) scattering votes; That from the certifled returng made ag aforesaid from the Fifth Congressional District comprised of part of Milwaukee County, it appears that total number of votes given for the nomination Fourteen of a Thousand candidate for Congress was Three Hundred and Thirty-Seven (14,337), of which number William H. Stafford received Thirteen Thousand Four Hundred and Sixteen (13,416), and there were Twenty-One scattering votes; That from the certifled returns made 89 aforesaid from the Sixth Congresstonal District comprised of the counties of Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Manitowoc and Winnebago, it appears that the total num| ber of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Ten Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty-Two (10,682), of which number August C. Dallman received Two Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty, (2,620): James H. Davidson received Five Thousand and | Twenty (5,020); J. N. Tittemore re-| celved Three Thousand and Twenty| Nine (8,029); and there were Thirteen (18) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as atoresaid from the Seventh Congres• sional District comprised or the counties of Adams, Clark, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Sauk and Vernon, it appears that the total number of votes given tor nomination of a candidate tor Congress was SeVenteen THousand Six Hundred and NinetyThree (17,698), of which number Joan Jacob Esch received Ten Thousand Nine Hundred and Seven (10,907); A. 5. Frederick received Six Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty-Three (4,788); and there were Three (8) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as atoresaid from the Eighth Congres,sional District comprised of the counties of Marathon, Portage, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara and Wood, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate tor Congress was Fifteen Thousand One Hundred and One (15,101), ot which number Edward E. Browne received Sight Thousand One Hundred and Eleven (8,111); Michael G. Eberlein recelved Six Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty-Seven (6,987); and there were Three (3) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aloresaid from the Ninth Congressional District comprised of the coul• ties of Brown, Door, Florence, Forest, Rewaunee, Langlade, Oconto, Marinette, and Outagamie, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Twelve Thousand Three Hundred and Four (12,304), of which number David G. Classon received Twelve Thousand Hundred and Sixty- Five (12,- there were Thirty-Nine (39) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as atoresaid from the Tenth Congressional District comprised of the counties of Barron, Buffalo, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau. Claire, Pepin, Pierce, St. Croix, and Trempealeau, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Fifteen Thousand and Eight (15,- 008), of which number James A. Frear received Fourteen Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty (14,980), and there Were Twenty- Eight (28) scattering votes: That from the certified returns made as atoresaid from the Eleventh Congressional District comprised of the counties of Asnland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Lincoln, Oneida, Polk, - Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas and Wasaburn, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for Congress was Eighteen Thousand One Hundred and Seventy-Five (18,175), of which number Harry W. Jossart received Three Thousand Four Hundred and Seventy-Two (3,472); Irvine L. Lenroot recelved Fourteen Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety-Nine (14,699); and there were Four (4) scattering votes. We do, therefore, hereby determine and certify that Henry Allen Cooper, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the First District; That Edward Voigt, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Second District; That John M. Nelson, having recelved the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Third District; That William J. Cary, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Fourth District; That William H. Stafford, having re• ceived the greatest number of votes, 19 duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Fifth District; That James H. Davidson, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Sixth District; That John Jacob Esch, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Seventh District; That Edward E. Browne, having received greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Eighth District; David G. Classon, having received the greatest number of votes, 19 duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Ninth District; That James A. Frear, having re• ceived the greatest number of votes, is duly nominated as the Republican candidate for Congress from the Tenth District; That Irvine L. Kay received two thousand five hundred and eighty-ene two three thousand one hundred and ninety(2,581), George B. Skogmo received (3,192), and there were seven (7) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid from the Twelfth Senatorial District, comprised of the counties of Ashland, Bayfleld, Price, Rusk and Sawyer, it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for State Senator on the Republican ticket was six thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine (6,899), of which number Hubert H. Peavey received three thousand three hundred and sixty (3,360), A. H. Wilkinson received three thousand five hundred and thirty-six (3,536), and there were three (3) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid, from the Fourteenth Senatorial District, comprised of the counties of Outagamle and Shawano, It appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for State Senator on the Republican ticket was five thousand five hundred and sixty-nine (5,569), of which number Antone Kuckuk received three thousand two hundred and thirty-nine (3,239), Otto F. Rohm received two thousand three hundred and twentyfive (2,325), and there were five (5) scattering votes; That from the certified returns made as aforesaid from the Sixteenth Señatorial District, comprised of the counties of Crawford, Grant. Richland. it appears that the total number of votes given for the nomination of a candidate for State Senator on the Republican ticket was six thousand seven hundred and seventeen (6,717), of which number R. M. Orchard received, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen (1,814), Henry E. Roethe received a four thousand nine hundred and one (4,901),
