InMotion's "New Support Experience" is an absolute joke. Live chat is completely dead.
InMotion's "New Support Experience" is an absolute joke. Live chat is completely dead.

Is anyone else furious about the broken piece of trash InMotion is calling their "New Support Experience" chat widget? When you click "Launch Chat" inside AMP, it traps you in an endless loop of old, archived messages and tickets from a year ago. There is literally no button, no plus sign, and no text box to actually start a new conversation. Even logging out, clearing cookies, and using Incognito does absolutely nothing because their broken system ties this dead-end view directly to your backend account profile.

Live, real-time human chat used to be the only reason to stay with InMotion, and now they have completely ruined it to hide behind automated filters and ghost their customers. Leaving a ticket open for 19 hours straight just to be met with a completely unusable, locked dashboard widget is unacceptable. Has anyone found a backdoor way to actually reach a human on this platform anymore, or is it officially time to migrate to a host that actually gives a damn?

Two accounts - different PTR results?
Two accounts - different PTR results?

So I have 2 separate hosting accounts - one on the west servers and one on the east, each with a few domains on them. All small personal/family hand made websites. People tell me that email I send them from any accounts on my east coast server gets tagged as spam, while any email I send from domains on my west coast server does not. So I decided to do some tests.

When I run the domain email tests at leafdns.com the east coast domains get the attached pic fail. Yet the exact same tests on all my west coast hosted domains pass. Odd isn't it? You would think that all their servers are set up the same way but they aren't. Whatever the people on the west are doing it is better and I wish the east coast people would do the same thing because this is annoying.

I have emailed and called tech support numerous times but they can never figure out what the difference is. I wish they would call their brothers over on the west coast and noodle it out because it gets frustrating. Top pic is west coast better server results

AMA with InMotion Hosting

Hi r/webhosting

We're the marketing, support, professional solutions, and infrastructure team at InMotion Hosting. We've been doing this for 25 years, long enough to have seen just about everything the hosting world can throw at you.

We're not here to pitch anything. We're here to talk shop and share what running operations at our scale actually looks like, the kind of thing agency owners and developers rarely get to see behind.

Ask us about the latest round of cPanel emergency security patches, fleet management at scale, what's coming next with InMotion Cloud, or whatever else is on your mind. We'll share what we know, and we want to hear how you're handling things on your end.

Answering today from u/inmotionhosting:
Carrie, Head of Marketing Operations, 7 years at InMotion Hosting
Dakota, Solutions Analyst I-E, 3 1/2 years at InMotion Hosting
Mohamed, Advanced Product Support Expert at InMotion Hosting

Answering today from u/inmotioncloud:
Jason, General Manager of InMotion Cloud
Krys, Head of Product Growth at InMotion Cloud
Alex, Social Media and Influencer Marketing Manager at InMotion Cloud

We’ll also share answers on behalf of other experts across our various teams.

We are here today from 12:00PM to 5:00PM ET, and will get to as many of your questions as we can.

That's a wrap, and thank you! Thanks to everyone who showed up and asked such thoughtful questions today. This was a genuinely good conversation, and we got into some topics we don't always get to talk about openly.

We'll keep an eye on the thread over the next couple of days, so if something else comes to mind, drop it below and we'll get to it.
