We do not allow direct re-posts by users or bots only seeking to gain karma or advertise their OnlySpam accounts, it's boring.
This includes answers or posts that are a copy/paste/partial or altered text from ChatGPT, search engines or similar AI entity. They are too often wrong, or miss important details.
If you notice one, please report it to us and we will investigate.

It's a bug, not a feature.
Due to (un)popular demand, we will be limiting the number of creepy crawly posts in the sub.
Posts will be judged by; the quality/clarity of the photos, novelty of the creature and description.
As a rule, we won't be approving posts about bed bugs or similar infestations. There are better, more specialised subReddits for this!

Put some effort in!
A good post should have an informative title, a description in the subtext that tells us the context of your question and a decent photo, video or link.

No poop, 🤮, other excrements or recently deceased critters.
Can you think of any other subReddit that might need such a rule? Well we decided we did, we are trying to eat breakfast.
Please no dead critters, poop, whether human, animal or any other variety. This extends to any similar bodily excretion such as :🤮.
Additionally, anything that once ensconced in a living creature now extricated can not be posted. Basically, anything that belongs inside a living creature and is now outside should not be posted.
Sea life and fish are okay as long as intact.

Regarding satire and circlejerks...
We enjoy keeping this subReddit fun and informal, but we discourage members from making submissions that are purely satirical.
We know, it's tempting, however r/whatisitcirclejerk may want to speak with you.
While we may approve them on occasion, don't be surprised if they are removed, be a good sport.

Concerning bad advice...
Please avoid making any comments that contain potentially harmful advice or recommendations.
We like our members and don't wish for anyone to get hurt. Report anything you see and we will take action if needed.

No moldy posts.
Posts about mold are best handled by subs such as: r/mold or r/MoldlyInteresting. They have the best advice!
