DJ sets are always exhilarating to watch with the bass resonating through the skin and crying out for everyone to dance along, but Tom Swoon’s set was even more incredible than this. To start with, the venue was incredible and the lighting, pyrotechnics, and holograms made the atmosphere incredibly high, and people were already dancing before he came out on stage. Swoon appeared behind his DJ booth as if by magic and launched straight into his track Synchronize whilst he shouted out to the crowd over the top of the music ‘are we here to have some fun? Let’s make some noise and party’, to which everyone jumped and screamed, joining in with the artist.
The show lasted over 2 hours, and he managed to maintain his energy throughout the show, dancing along, creating some incredible mixes, and encouraging the crowd to join in. When he played his newest track Ghost, there was a camera from behind the DJ booth projecting his actions up on a huge screen, and it was awesome to see the complexity of mixing and using samples created right before our eyes.
