Fragment from a recently written poem, text layered over my photo of the Mother's Day flowers my queer kid got me, finally planted in the yard.
From "You Have Your Cake"
Love shouldn't feel like
a warÂ
Strategy employed
Two generals facing off
You have an army
I have none
You defeated me
utterly
You nurse me back
to health
Just to destroy me again
I am completely undone, devastated
