There's nothing better than a good gag gift. While you could get your friend a horrible pair of socks or a shirt with a questionable quote, sometimes there's nothing better than a Steam game they certainly won't play, let alone install. Clogging up my friends' Steam libraries with nonsense is one of my favorite pastimes, and here are 7 of my go-to games that I gift as a joke.
7 Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015
The quintessential Steam joke gift everyone has
Despite it being almost a decade old at this point, Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015: Do You Still Shower With Your Dad is still at the pinnacle of gag gifts. Everyone has either been gifted this game or gifted it to someone else, but if you haven't, it's a really easy way to get a laugh. The gameplay is simple, and revolves around matching characters together. It even has multiplayer, so take that for what you will.
6 Who's Your Daddy
Hilarious, but also actually fun
Who's Your Daddy is one of the few games on this list that is actually worth playing after you purchase it. Gift a copy to a friend, grab one for yourself, and have some chaotic fun. The gameplay is multiplayer and revolves around a father trying to keep his small child from getting into mischief. As the baby, your job is to hurt yourself as much as possible. The dynamic that's created is good fun and is worth it both as a gag, and to actually play. It's even got a remake that's currently in development.
5 PacaPlus
Questionable to say the least
If you have a friend that really likes alpacas, I have the perfect game for them. If you don't, PacaPlus makes for a great joke gift. It's an anime visual-novel game about a guy whose girlfriend turns into an alpaca. Its $10 price tag is a bit steep for a gag, but if you catch it on sale, it's worth a laugh.
4 Bad Rats
An extremely frustrating puzzle game
Bad Rats is a physics-based puzzle game that earned cult-classic status, but not in a good way. Physics-based puzzle games can work, but Bad Rats has such horrible in-game physics that it makes the puzzles based more on random chance than ones ability to reason. Dumping this game on someone can be funny if the receiver has no idea of what they're getting into. If they already know how much of a monstrosity this game is, even better.
3 Wild Animal Racing
It's like Mario Kart, if you forget about the fun and polish
Just going off of the screenshots alone, Wild Animal Racing is clearly a masterpiece, both visually and gameplay-wise. In all seriousness, the presentation alone makes this game worth a gift. The colors are eye-wateringly bright, and the gameplay can't be described as anything other than a dumpster fire. I can't confirm that it works, but according to the store page, it does support multiplayer. If nothing else, it's worth it for the trading cards.
2 The Graveyard
Funny for how little gameplay there is
Released in 2009, The Graveyard is an extremely short art game that has the player walk through a graveyard as an elderly woman. The Steam Store page for the game describes it as more of an explorable painting than anything else. While the themes are certainly not very funny, gifting the game to someone is. It's completely devoid of gameplay and the entire experience can be had through watching someone else walk through the graveyard.
1 Secret of the Magic Crystals
Only for the most masculine of gamers
Have you ever wanted to breed your own magical horses? Secret of the Magic Crystals is a game that allows you to do just that. The actual gameplay loop is extremely repetitive, but I doubt anyone you gift this to will actually install it, let alone play it. It's a fun one to have pop up on the Steam Community Activity page, nonetheless.
Good for gags, not for much else
Gifting these funny Steam games is a harmless way to get a laugh out of your friends. Really, the only game worth playing on this list is Who's Your Daddy, and the other titles are certainly going to be left collecting dust in your friend's Steam libraries. Cheap doesn't always mean bad, as these 14 games are exceptional, and can be picked up for next to nothing.
