There aren't a ton of games out there that give you a ton of high-quality content for a buck, but every so often, a well-received game will go on such a drastic sale that you'd be silly not to snap it up. Sure, they only happen once in a blue moon, but when they do happen, it's worth telling everyone about it. After all, what's a buck when buying a video game?
Well, if you've always wanted to give the Alan Wake series a shot, now's your big chance. The first entry has gone on a 95% discount, sending its price spiralling down to a single dollar. And if you want to grab some extras for your game, you'll find that they're also on a massive sale.
Alan Wake and its additional content are 95% off for a limited time
If you've never heard of Alan Wake before, it's a really unique horror game that has its fair share of fans. The second title is only on the Epic Games Store at the time of writing, but if you want to see if the series is for you, now's your best chance.
Here's how the game's Steam page describes Alan Wake:
When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A Dark Presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.
Presented in the style of a TV series, Alan Wake features the trademark Remedy storytelling and pulse-pounding action sequences. As players dive deeper and deeper into the mystery, they’ll face overwhelming odds, plot twists, and cliffhangers. It’s only by mastering the Fight With Light combat mechanic that they can stay one step ahead of the darkness that spreads across Bright Falls.
If you pop over to the Alan Wake Steam page, you'll see a handful of options available to you. If you just want to give the base game a spin, you can do so for a dollar. This comes with some Collector's Edition extras bundled in, which is a nice addition.
If you want the above content plus the American Nightmare content pack, the collection is also 95% off at a cool $1.24. So, if you're interested in Alan Wake, I'd say it's worth the extra quarter for an entirely new story. And if you want to really splash out, you can grab all of Alan Wake plus Remedy Entertainment's other title, Control, for $6.26. And it's the ultimate edition of Control, too. All of these deals go away on the 31st of August, so don't waste too much time.
