Summary

  • AMD's RX 9060 XT listed on Amazon at $450 for 8GB and $520 for 16GB of VRAM.
  • Competing with Nvidia's RTX 5060 Ti, AMD's pricing seems high but not finalized.
  • AMD may reveal the RX 9060 XT during Computex, with potential for future lower-end models.

We've seen a lot of leaks about AMD's unannounced RX 9060 XT, but now, the card has finally broken cover through two listings on Amazon. Spotted by VideoCardz, AMD board partner XFX listed two versions of the RX 9060 XT, one with 8GB of VRAM and another with 16GB. Outside the fan configuration and clock speed, there aren't a ton of details in the listings. The most interesting detail is the price. The listings show the 8GB model at $450 and the 16GB at $520, which is significantly more expensive than Nvidia's competing RTX 5060 Ti.

AMD's RX 9060 XT looks expensive based on early listing

This might not be the final price, though

AMD hasn't announced the RX 9060 XT yet, but there's a good chance we'll see it within a couple of weeks. Rumors suggest AMD will launch the GPU during Computex, and it will reportedly come with two VRAM capacities. Unlike the previous generation, where AMD separated the RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT with VRAM, it looks like both models will carry the RX 9060 XT name, potentially paving the way for a lower-end RX 9060 some time in the future.

We need to address the pricing, though. The RX 9060 XT should compete with Nvidia's RTX 5060 Ti. Team Green released two versions of that card, as well, one with 8GB of VRAM and another with 16GB. The 8GB model clocks in at $380 while the 16GB model costs $430. Those are list prices, however. At the time of writing, the 8GB version is available for around $420 and the 16GB version for close to $500. Even at those inflated prices, these early RX 9060 XT listings are higher at $450 and $520 for the 8GB and 16GB models, respectively.

It's possible these are just placeholder prices, or even more likely, that these were prices earlier set by AMD before the RTX 5060 Ti released. Hopefully that's the case. As we saw with the RX 9070 XT, the RDNA 4 architecture is mighty impressive, especially when AMD is able to undercut Nvidia's offerings. That's exactly what we've seen with the two cards AMD has released this generation, with the XT model competing with the RTX 5070 Ti for $150 less, and the non-XT model handily beating the RTX 5070 for the same price.

It won't be long until we know more about the RX 9060 XT and AMD's future GPU plans. The company is set to give a keynote address at Computex on May 21, where we'll likely learn about the RX 9060 XT. It won't be alone, either. Nvidia has already confirmed its RTX 5060 during Computex, while rumors suggest Intel will introduce the Arc B770.
