If you ask anyone at XDA what to put on a media center, we're very likely to point you toward Kodi. We're still using Kodi way into 2025, and we've even picked Kodi over other apps in the same space. So, when a new update comes out, you know we have to check it out.
This time, we're taking a peek at Kodi 21.3. While the update contains a ton of tweaks and fixes, the two spotlight features include an easier time playing media on either Linux or the Xbox One.
Kodi 21.3 makes playing your media on your favorite devices a lot easier
Plus a bunch of fixes
As spotted by the good folk over at our sister website, How-To Geek, Kodi 21.3 "Omega" is now ready for release. There's a lot to go over, but the stars of the show are some tweaks to how Kodi handles videos.
First up, if you like watching media on your Xbox One, you'll be pleased to hear that Kodi 21.3 adds HDR support to the console. Honestly, turning an older console into a media center sounds like a great idea to me, and it's nice to hear that doing so has gotten even easier with Kodi.
Second, there are the tweaks Kodi 21.3 made to Linux. If you're a fan of playing Blu-ray media on your open-source OS but noticed that things haven't been working properly lately, version 21.3 fixes both playback issues and audio/subtitle issues. Sounds great to me.
