Unfortunately, these hot temps aren't done with us yet. Another hot & mainly dry week is ahead. Hottest day looks to be Tuesday as heat indices get above 105 degrees for areas west of the Plateau. We'll have to look ahead to next weekend and into early next week for cooler temps.

There are rain and storm chances today, but it's not a slam-dunk that everyone will benefit. If you don't get any rain today, I'm afraid it's going to be a while longer before the next opportunity. All indications are that temperatures will finally start to back off next weekend.

Well, rats. The new drought monitor shows that abnormally dry conditions now cover most of Middle Tennessee, and moderate drought conditions are even showing up in a few places. Hopefully, expected rainfall the next several days will keep a lid on further expansion.
