Commodore OS Vision is a 64-bit Linux distribution which was originally based on Linux Mint and is now an unofficial spin of MX Linux. This distribution was created for Commodore enthusiasts and people who appreciate a retro style interface. Commodore OS Vision uses the MATE desktop interface and features a retro look and effects. It has a classic Commodore slant with a selection of applications reminiscent of their classic Amiga counterparts.

 Awesome Distro for creative people, gamers, computer nerds, even Office.
Looks and feels amazing.
Super user-friendly interface, that even your mum could navigate and find what she needs.
Somes with exactly the right software selection working right out of the box.
eg. LibreOffice, GnuCash Finance Manager, Desktop Publishing Software, PDF Editor, Deluxe Paint, GIMP, Blender 3d, Inkscape, Pixel Art Editors, OBS Studio, Video Editors, Media Players, Plex Media Server, Handbrake...
Basically it's the perfect Distro, never seen a better one for me.

PS. get the C64 Ultimate, it's super cool too. Or their new Flip Phone, which blocks most social media (great for kids too).

 From a UX perspective, it offers an exciting yet contradictory experience. The retro C64 aesthetic—featuring a brown-and-beige color scheme, pixelated icons, and a design reminiscent of the original keyboard—evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and gives the system a visually consistent, highly recognizable identity. This is a rarity in the world of Linux distributions, where most interfaces are generic.

At the same time, this nostalgia comes with UX trade-offs: contrast and readability sometimes fall short of modern standards, the navigation logic prioritizes the retro atmosphere over efficiency, and the AmiKit-based, Amiga Workbench-style window management presents a learning curve for today's users. Icon sizes, fonts, and menu systems can appear inconsistent across different resolutions.

Overall, it is an excellent hobby project and a great experience for retro enthusiasts.

 I love this so much. My first computer was a Commodore 64. I had to sell it when I got married the first time. Turns out, I should have kept the computer and ditched the wife instead. I went from an aspiring computer programmer able to use Basic, Assembly and machine code to a Lawn care technician, soldier then crane operator of 37 years. I often wonder what might have been if love and stupidity hadn't ganged up on me.

Anyway, this brings back memories with a fully functional and beautiful operating system with many useful additions. I simply love it.
