recovery is a Debian-based live Linux distribution with a collection of utilities designed for troubleshooting, disk partitioning, system rescue, backup and data recovery. It also includes tools for modifying passwords on Linux and Windows installations and for retrieving Windows product keys. It ships with GParted, Clonezilla, Boot-Repair, ddrescue, Nwipe, TestDisk, DejaDup and many more tools. The distribution, which boots into the Xfce desktop, also features a variety of desktop applications, such as LibreWolf web browser, GOffice office suite (AbiWord and Gnumeric), GIMP image editor, Shotwell video editor and Audacity audio editor. Besides developing the live distribution, the project also provides extra software as modules (in *.sb format) which can be installed with a mouse click.

 As a free alternative to Parted Magic, I can't fault it - well on first glance anyway.

It looks to have a very similar set of software utils installed and I'm not annoyed at all that I've just very recently paid for the latest Parted Magic, which I do every couple of years to show my support.

Very rarely do I give 10/10 marks, but I feel this a good polished live distro that deserves a place on my Ventoy USB stick

The included (Firefox variant) browser has ublock origin preinstalled, so you can access YouTube videos without the annoying adverts.

 Recovery Is Incredibly thoughtful. This has everything you need for emergencies. RescueZilla, CloneZilla, TimeShift, and dozens of more very useful apps. This is a toolbox. Everyone should keep a copy of Recovery on a USB drive. Keep it in a safe place, and use it when needed for just about everything and anything. This is a distro hopper's best friend. Id list all the apps pre-installed but my arthritis would start in my hands, it would take hours .. Thank you to the person(s) who put this together.. I am very grateful. This saved me on the first use. This is really good work. Thank you !!!!!!
