It shall be unlawful for any person to go into any public place, into or near any private house, or upon or along any public street or highway within the corporate limits of the city, and use loud and vociferous or obscene, vulgar or indecent language, or swear or curse, or expose his person, or commit any act of obscenity or immorality, or make any loud or unnecessary noise, or disturbance or rudely or wantonly or maliciously discharge or use any pistol or other deadly firearm, in a manner calculated to alarm the inhabitants thereof.

(a) 
Prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any gun, pistol, or firearm of any description on or across any public square, street, or alley, or on or in any public place, within the corporate limits of the city.
(b) 
Exceptions.
The provisions of subsection (a) above shall not apply to law enforcement personnel acting in the normal course of duty, persons firing in a lawfully operated target or shooting range, or persons acting in lawful defense of life or property.

The words “public place” within the meaning of this article shall be taken to mean any public road, street, alley, highway, or park, or any school, hospital, hotel, roominghouse, depot, cafe, grocery, workshop, store, or any place to which people commonly resort for the purpose of business, recreation or amusement and also places of public worship, within the corporate limits of the city.

Any one convicted of violating any of the provisions of this article shall be fined in accordance with the general penalty provision set forth in Section 1.109 of this code.
