Hua Hin entertainment venue inspection

Entertainment venue inspections have been carried out in Hua Hin and Cha-am following a recent fire at a venue in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao area that caused serious loss of life and property.

On 14 July, Hua Hin City Municipality Clerk Jirawat Pramanee joined officials from Hua Hin District Office, the Internal Security Operations Command and Hua Hin Police Station in inspecting the Thong Suk entertainment venue.

The inspection assessed the premises’ fire prevention measures, safety equipment, evacuation routes and emergency procedures.

Officials also advised the operator on compliance with relevant laws and the management of emergencies, using lessons from the recent Bangkok fire to help improve safety standards at entertainment businesses in Hua Hin.

Local authorities said they plan to organise a joint fire emergency drill with business operators and safety agencies. The exercise will test emergency procedures and help reduce the risk of injuries, deaths and property damage.

Six venues inspected in Cha-am

A separate inspection was carried out in Cha-am on 15 July after Mayor Nukul Pornsomboonsiri instructed municipal departments to work with Cha-am District Office, the Provincial Electricity Authority and other agencies.

Teams inspected six entertainment venues and businesses operating in a similar manner within the municipality.

The entertainment venue inspections focused on electrical systems, fire prevention and suppression equipment, fire extinguishers, emergency equipment, fire escapes, exit signs and the structural safety of buildings.

Officials also checked whether the businesses were complying with public health regulations and other relevant laws.

Cha-am Municipality said operators cooperated with the inspections and received recommendations on improvements needed to strengthen safety for customers, residents and tourists.

The municipality said it would continue coordinating with relevant agencies to raise safety standards at entertainment venues and other businesses in the area.
