
BSS 1 [Benchmark Space Systems]
BSS 1 (Benchmark Space Systems 1) is a technology demonstration 3U CubeSat by Benchmark Space Systems. It is to demonstrate the DFAST propulsion system.
BSS1 mission is to demonstrate DFAST propulsion system, which uses inert non-toxic powdered fuel that is filled before shipping and remains inert until pressurization command is triggered on-orbit. The Cubesat was built by NearSpace Launch.
The satellite was one of the passengers on the maiden launch of the Firefly-Alpha (Block 1) rocket and was lost in the launch failure.
